Sangklaburi district, Kanchanaburi the most western part of Thailand. Roughly 6 hours drive from Bangkok, there are numerous points of interest on the way to and within Sangklaburi including such as a well-known Bridge over the river Kwai, elephant camp, world war II museum, waterfalls, hot springs, fishermen village etc. In Sangklaburi, tourist will stay in Karen style bamboo hut within the local campsite farm-stay nearby the river. Enjoy farming activities (feeding animals, planting, weeding, composting, etc.). Also an opportunity to cook Thai food, participate in a Karen and Mon ethnic performances, visit communities along the border area, observe Myanmar nationals migrants that cross the border to work in Thai factories. We will have a chance to enjoy travelling by boat in the lake or taking a bamboo raft for a more adventurous experience.
Karen community is a small community households. They started welcoming travellers to come visit. Their authentic way of life promotes a very strong bond with the nature that is very well preserved up till today. This community is located on the Sangkla Buri hill close to the Myanmar border. Enjoy the cool breeze almost all year round perfect for a nice weekend getaway. Enjoy the local community encounter and involve in activities. Small Village located at the heart of the valley in Sangkla Buri. Surrounded by rich and beautiful nature with a breathtaking landscape, this village is home to Karen and Mon hill tribes who are the first to migrate to this region.
